Gorlatova Receives Best Paper Award for IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics
Research by Maria Gorlatova, the Center’s Associate Director for Extended Reality, and The Athena AI Institute team has received the 2025 Best Paper Award for IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics in the area of “Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality” by the IEEE Computer Society Publications Board.
According to the Athena AI Institute, Dr. Gorlatova’s paper, “Augmented Reality-Based Contextual Guidance Through Surgical Tool Tracking in Neurosurgery,” stood out among a highly competitive pool of submissions and was recognized by the review committee for its originality, rigor, and contribution to the field.
